Frequently Asked Questions
When can I sign up?
You can sign up at any time. DeMont Family Swim School offers year-round swim lessons, so new swimmers can enroll throughout the year when space is available.
What if I join in the middle of a month?
If you join mid-month, your first payment will be adjusted based on the remaining lessons in that month, along with the upcoming month’s tuition.
Why do you offer perpetual swim lessons instead of sessions?
Consistent practice helps swimmers retain skills, build confidence, and continue improving over time. Our ongoing lesson model allows children to progress at their own pace instead of stopping and restarting between sessions.
How long does my child attend lessons?
Every swimmer develops at their own pace. Some children attend until they reach basic water safety goals, while others continue into stroke development and advanced technique. Our team can help guide your family based on your swimmer’s progress and goals.
How do I withdraw from my class?
To withdraw from lessons, please submit your withdrawal request through your customer portal or contact our team directly. Be sure to review the current withdrawal policy so your account can be updated properly.
How do I change my day or time?
You can request a class change through your customer portal or contact our team for help finding another available day or time that works for your schedule.
Schedule of our classes?
Class schedules vary by program, level, instructor availability, and open enrollment spots. Please log in to your customer portal or contact our team to view current class options.
Just once a week?
Most swimmers attend once per week. Families who want to accelerate progress may choose to enroll in additional weekly lessons when availability allows.
What if my class has only one or two students?
Class sizes may vary based on enrollment and scheduling. If a class has low enrollment, DeMont Family Swim School may adjust or combine classes to create the best learning environment for swimmers.
When will my child be “water safe” or “drown-proofed”?
No child is ever completely “water safe” or “drown-proof.” Swim lessons help children build important water safety skills, confidence, and swimming ability, but close adult supervision is always essential in and around water.
When can I make up a class?
Make-up lesson availability depends on current policy, open class times, and proper absence notification. Please use your customer portal or contact our team for current make-up lesson options.
What happens during monsoons when it is lightning?
Because our facility is indoors, lessons usually continue during storms. If travel conditions are unsafe, a power outage occurs, or the facility needs to close, our team will communicate any schedule changes.
What about teacher requests?
We do our best to accommodate teacher requests whenever possible, but specific instructors cannot be guaranteed. Scheduling, availability, and program needs may affect class assignments.
What is your sick policy?
If your child is sick or showing symptoms such as fever, vomiting, diarrhea, cold, flu, or other contagious illness, please stay home and reschedule when possible. This helps protect other swimmers, families, and instructors.
Signs and symptoms of a concussion
If your child has experienced a head injury or may have a concussion, please follow medical guidance before returning to swim lessons. Signs may include headache, dizziness, nausea, confusion, sensitivity to light or noise, balance issues, or unusual behavior. When in doubt, please consult a medical professional.
What if my child cries during lessons?
Crying can be a normal part of adjusting to a new environment, especially for younger or nervous swimmers. Our instructors are experienced in helping children build trust and comfort in the water while supporting each swimmer at an appropriate pace.
